Sounds good. Forebay and East Main are one and the same aren't they? So have the barriers been removed?
WTF?? So is it just the access to Diversion that is blocked or the whole East Main all the way to Bear Creek?
So, any updated reports from anyone who was back that way over the long weekend- or at least tried to get back there?
It's an area with a lot of opportunities for four wheeling, fishing and camping, but unfortunately access is becoming a problem. The Butler Main from Otter Point has been closed and gated for more than a decade although some folks still find a way in. The East Main from Jordan River was still open the last time I was back there last year but going was very slow due to slides, washouts and blowdown. There should be lots of people trying to get back there this weekend so maybe next week there will be some updates on the condition.
It's the Renfrew Main all right as you see on the map posted above. A friend and I set out ten days or so ago - on a weekday - to check it out but not far west of Shawnigan encountered active hauling and signs warning us to turn back or we would be considered trespassers unless we had written authorization from Timber West. The gate was open at the time but the signs warned it could be closed at any time. We met one other fellow who had turned back. He told us to get out of there: it was dangerous because of hauling and blasting. We turned back. Not keen to get stuck behind the gate.
