Ok...soooo I'm new here, and to the island, I own a jeep.. You either love them or hate them,i had heard they can rust quite bad. I've owned my 97 TJ jeep just over a month or so, I knew it had rust when I bought it thinking I'd fix the easy stuff. The thing is the cab mounts on the body are f**ked! ,The three on either side below the doors. I was either going to get a pro to do it, or buy the patches online and do it myself , I've done a bit of panel beating and painting before so I want to do it myself to save some money, but the thing is I don't have a welder!..I've been to a few repair places for a quote, as soon as they had a look they pretty much said that it was going to be to costly to fix and they don't know how it has passed a safety! Some didn't even have a look and said that I should sell it!!
Is there any one who could help me out? Has anyone done this repair before? I like my jeep!!

Dam Rust!!
Got a buddy who wrenches and welds, i will let him know your situation and see if hes interested. Hes basied out of duncan.
Yea that would be great, not expecting anything for free, just need to get it safe (and to get the wife of my case!)
I'm in Victoria but don't mind travelling, all the panel guys said labour was going to be expensive, i know what to expect when doing this job, lifting body etc rusty bolts spinning or snapping I will get all the new can bushes to make things easier
Rust be gone!
A lot of work but a good fix :)
Completed the body swap out the back of my house without a shed! she's all back together now and in better shape than ever!!! the donor body was in amazing shape
il try post a few pictures of the rebuild
time to enjoy the new old jeep!
wow man looks good, much better than the old rusty one
Nicely done!
good stuff.
Thanks guys, I thought I did ok considering I'd never even been in a jeep before buying this TJ let alone rebuild one, have to say though, Chrysler cheaped out on a lot of stuff on the yj/tj they could have built it a little better in places, but in saying that I like the modular design and the simplicity of the rebuild!
Were is this jeep from with all that rust. I come from the Canadian rust belt...Ottawa Montreal area where these fold in half in 6 years.
haha ,this one i got from victoria, not sure where it came from before me.I think it may have sat for a while, when i started using it as a daily all the rust started to fall out
goodjob on the swap, got any pics of her flexin/mudding/rock climbing
