I should mention that there's probably active logging up there now. we crossed a parked truck that mayyyy have been trying to block the way... no marking other than a fleet #. We just moved the log next to it, and carried on. The road had been severely washed out, earlier in the year. now its freshly packed and all the wood waste is piled on the sides.
basically gordon main, up bugaboo, to nitinat, flora main, to klanawa main, onto bamfield main. gorgeous drive. my ride is mostly stock, 2" body lift and 32s for now, and it was a breeze.
also, ignore all the little detours, that was us just checking out McClure lake and some side roads. you get the gist of it.
your expression in that pic is fucking priceless. think we all been there.
thank you! been waiting to try that road again.
found it great for little hikes. its just another tool in the digital chest, IMO.
checked out whipsaw trail after reading your post. holy shit that looks fun. tempting road trip.
hey smokey. i just went up there last weekend.
gate has been open all winter. doesn't look like its even functional, IMO.
for directions i used OSMand~ (http://osmand.net/) to navigate offline. no other up to date maps had the route.
a link to my gpx file in this thread near the bottom:
