If Nanaimo Lakes gates is open you can do lots of exploring there and it'll be pretty mild. Basically from there just grab a map book and wander around.
Hey Nick, I haven't been but you probably have to access it from Nanaimo Lakes (Nanaimo River Road) or wherever the gate is on the Cowichan side before fourth lake. Usually open on weekends, you can check Mosaic's website to see when the gates open and close.
Then I did some research which confirmed my weird Google maps directions that you can also enter from the Port Alberni area and take the Cameron Main in. Probably have to get in from "the hump" which may be gated and come all the way back south. There's always creative ways to get there too.
Looks pretty nice though if you can get there. Would be up to exploring it sometime.
Wish I could make it out, but I can't come tomorrow. Hope y'all have a great time!
As for airing down, it's just worth it; smoother ride, less chance of damage as mentioned, and good for your pup if you have one. You can pick up a Motomaster air compressor for $100+ish at Canadian Tire and it'll do the trick. Takes maybe a bit longer but it shuts off after each tire is done and works great every time.

Awesome footage. Another good looking run.
And Lance, always winching out Grand Cherokees. Nothing new there!
There are some rough trails in there but lots to explore. Lots of rock but good elevation and views if you can get there.
