I know a guy that put 37's on one of those, then ended up rolling forwards end over end down a hill. it was pretty funny. His solution - chop it and stretch the frame by 14", build a new custom box and cloth top. that thing was awesome, it would go anywhere a quad would go.
Spruceton is the road on the west side of the highway between nanaimo river and haslam creek. There's mostly logging roads, but there is one area there that's crown and not gated. See the trail map in this thread: http://www.vioffroad.com/forum/routes-destinations/nanaimo-river
Try out Spruston Road/Timberlands Road/Nanaimo Lakes Road. Just be careful about gates/private property, rumour has it Timberlands will attempt to confiscate vehicles caught trespassing.
If you haven't sold this yet... I have a failing 1991 3zve with a 5spd manual... I'd be interested in buying this off you if the motor was reasonably compatible with that setup.

Thanks anyway. If I do end up looking at a 3.4L I'll for sure ask you about your experience.
