this would only be for dirt bikes, ATV's, UTV's, ect. If youve got a street legal vehicle you dont have to worry about it at all, good question though!
Hill 60 area is a good one , also if you go on hillcrest road you can find lots of cool trails in that area

depends on what your budget is really. You can get everything custom built by fabricators here on the island, you can also order a smittybilt bumper off of amazon for like 500$ free shipping, which is IMO a great option. Can also check out peden RV in sidney ( they deal with tons of jeep stuff) and westshore spring 4x4 , also very offroad oriented. hope this helps :)
Havent been out there in awhile, but there are quite a few trails out in the area. if you start off of renfrew rd and turn onto the logging road just past isabelle pl ( check google maps, heading west at the northwest part of the lake) youll be able to explore some stuff in there. Youve got way more in cowichan though
