Hi Everyone,
Looking to get a group together for a little rip on Sunday October 25th
Plan will to be meet at the Timmies in goldstream @ 8:30AM Sunday
From here head out to Duncan, then Lake Cowichan to pick up any members along this route, and refuel. From here we will make our way over to Port Renfrew, touching as little plavement as possible, if someone knows a route, thats great! If not ill do some looking and post my findings here for review/comments.
** Looking at backroad Map books, it looks like there is a road along Lens Creek that cuts off west by South Main In lake Cowichan, and connects by Lizzard Lake Rec Site
Once In Port Renfrew there are a few Sites I would Like to check out and stop for Lunch then explore more of these sites. Some of the roads are labeled "rough" but Im thinking they cant be thatttt bad and therefore This will likely be a easy-Moderate trip - Likely just good set of tires needed (buddy in almost stock ranger will be joining)
From here groups will make their way back home (expect to leave the Port Renfrew area between 4 and 6) (Some NE to lake Cowichan, and others SW Back to the victoria area)
You will need:
Spare Tire & Fuel
Food for everyone in your party
Water for everyone in your party
Any tools you feel are needed for your vehicle for a trip
Boots / Shoes Comfortable to walk in - Some areas may require a small hike to get into
Rain Gear - I plan to leave the vehicle and get to these spots rain or shine. Please be prepared for the elements
I unfortunately do not have a CB radio, but will have some basic hand signals that can be used in case of emergency. If someone has walkie' talkies, they would be awesome.
