April 9th run, any interest?

I hope you found someone to go out with you, or at least found somewhere fun to ride.
If you've never gone in quad'ing from Rat Lake, I highly recommend it as a nice weekend ride you can do solo or with a group.
It should be no problem for a quad to run the gate bypass if I can take my 2nd gen Tracker through there with only 29" A/T's and a 2.5" OME lift. Just turn off the Highway on to Frayne at Sirius Coffee and then immediately hang a left on the road that goes behind it. There's a few good places to park with a trailer near the gate and surprisingly lots to see back there so go early and take a lunch. I think a lot of people who don't live in the area have either never been there or forgotten all about since all the gates went in but it's still an awesome place to go for the day that's not too far or convoluted to get to. Only go in on a weekend though, there's no activity back there other than offroaders. I just spent the day trail running there myself. I love that old haul road gated in from Shawnigan Mill Bay Rd to the Bamberton underpass that looks like it's right out of a Walking Dead episode. It's like a mini highway to get to the various sections you can access back there. Check it out on Google Maps satellite view or the online CRD Atlas for trail maps. The power line service road is also pretty good most of the way with a few sketchy patches and water holes here and there.
