I tried to get to sherk lake yesterday via copper canyon. I signed in at the gate and noticed that there was a sign saying there is a gate at the 22k marker, but when I got to that point the gate was open. (Later found out someone pulled the post out of the ground) I kept going and about 10km away from sherk I got turned around by security :(
I'm wondering if there is another access to copper canyon main or another way to get to sherk?
I know the powers lines from hillcrest used to connect but when I went to find the road to them from thr copper canyon side it seems it's been blocked off.

I would also like to know this route, or accompany a convoy to get out there. Looks like an awesome spot!
never went form hill 60 to copper canyon by the power line but i used another route from hill 60 was open a few months ago
Im very intrested in going to sherk lake , i am looking for a good weekend trip to go on with my pathy.
I haven't found a way on to copper canyon main without going through the gate yet :(
I'm either going to the walbran valley this weekend or staying close to home and camping off hillcrest.
The gate at the 22.5km mark is open all the time now. Have fun !
The gate at 22km is gone but there's a new gate around the 50km mark.
