Do you need to know a way through or around gates to drive up Mount Benson, or is it open on weekends through Nanaimo Lakes Rd?
Was riding my Mnt bike up there and we were passed by a number of wheelers. Just wondering what the scoop is.

It's very rare for that gate to be open, Legally the only way in is through NWB, but there are other ways to get onto the 142...not stock friendly.

Far as I know there's no driving a vehicle to the summit, the old road has been gated for a couple years now at 825m or so. I've been there a half dozen times on my MTB and never seen it open.

Is there not a radio site at the summit? Or is that deactivated?
