Hey guys, new to the site. From Kelowna and on the island scouting for some good locations. We are looking to find some killer viewpoints for some filming and photo opps. Basically trying to capture and highlight all the island has to offer in a short piece. I've been bombing around the last couple days but ran into lots of locked gates... I've been asked to find the following key spots and all need to be accessible by a fairly stock Vehicle (New Tacoma TRD). Any advice is much appreciated!! I am only here until tomorrow but likely coming back next month. I'd love to chat or meet up if anyone is available. Thanks for your time.
-High mountain road with steep drop-off (that can be filmed from a distance with drone)
-Big Waterfall
-Good Muddle
-High mountain lookout where the truck can park near the edge
-Any areas with interesting ancient artifacts or local Folklore?
and heres the hard one...
-Bigfoot sighting locations???!

No offence, but Vancouver Island is nearly 500km long, 100km wide, and 32,000 sq.kM in area. Not really a place you can ‘bomb around’ for a couple days to ‘sum up in a short piece’.
The easily accesible areas on the South Island are private forest lands and mostly gated. The terrain you seek does not sound much like the geography of the South Island to me, so maybe change your scope to fit the geography, or head to the North Island. Filming on the mainland sounds like it might be a better bet for the car commercial or whatever it is you seek to film.
Best of luck
Try the crashed plane on Mt Bolduc. Short trip off the Gordon River Main between Port Renfrew and Lake Cowichan. No gates
Or Flora Lake https://donsadventurerides.wordpress.com/dons-adventure-ride-17-flora-la...
Bigfoot sighting locations???...........Mount Sicker .............http://thesearchforsasquatch.blogspot.ca/2011/04/mt-sicker-update.html
High mountain road with steep drop-off (that can be filmed from a distance with drone Sicker has some very nice views so does Breton or green mount or there lots
Any areas with interesting ancient artifacts or local Folklore? need more specific ....ancient artifacts not really...............
Thanks for the heads up. I realize its a very large and diverse area. just trying to narrow down the options.
Thanks for the info Lauchlin! Will definitely check these out. Cheers
