Hey Jamie, I built mine out of baltic birch with a rubber top a while back, I am looking to design and build one for a Four Runner to sell as flat pack RTA. Just joined the forum today and saw this!
The drawers survived having tools thrown on top most days of the week, been to Haida Gwaii twice and 1 week on olympic peninsula, both in wet conditions without issue.
