Hi everyone, Merry Christmas.
Just a question on Forebay road. I understand that it goes all the way to Bear Creek reservoir. My question is: is it a private access only road, or is it open to the public? Any info appreciated.
Cheers,
Llew

It’s open from the hwy 14 side. I’ve only gone as far as the Diversion Reservoir though, so I don’t know what’s beyond that.
Great thanks very much. Are there a lot of logging trucks on it?
I was there on weekends, so only dirt bikes and other trucks. Not sure if it’s being actively used for logging during the week.
I've been up there dozens of times over the last few years and have never seen a single logging truck.
I usually go during the week. Quads, dirt bikes, bc hydro pickups and various trucks but nothing big. The main road is maintained on a regular basis so you'd think there would be some heavy traffic but I've never seen it.
Speaking of the area, I came across what looks like a giant safe recently, I think I've seen it before but never looked closely. Looks to be a big concrete cube with a very heavy steel door set in the side - was running out of daylight so just took a quick look but very odd.
It is right here,

Hey thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it. I think I'll try it out in the new year, depending on the snow etc.

Could be storage for explosives.
Some of the land on either side of the road is private but the road is public. I was there about a month ago and they've put a new red gate near the end, closest to Bear Creek Reservoir. The gate was open when I was there and was able to drive to the end, but I'm guessing at some point the gate will be locked.
And that old safe has been there for at least 10 years. It's crazy someone got that out there!
Great thanks. I'll definitely head up there soon (weather permitting of course).
