Well its been a while since the last update and I have wheeled this thing hard......it is finally time to roll it into garage and make some major changes and upgrades.
Time for some new power
'99 4.3L motor and a TH350 with a reverse manual valvebody, I will be wiring it with a stand alone Howell engine harness.
Minor suspension tweaks
Possibly need new gears in the front after the last trip out (something is making noise)
Put some small tires on to make it a bit lower and easier to work on.....looks funny with tiny boots.
Cut the whole front off as I want to tube it and dove the front end
New motor and tranny combo....doing some upkeep, gaskets, cleaning etc... before she goes in
So far just sorting out lots of little parts etc... and figuring out what can be deleted.
New here so little late to the party but great vision and skill. You’re an artist with steel. Good job on the thread very detailed nice For me to sit on a couch and look at all that hard work. Sweet
Wow, I forgot about this thread.....I need to show the rest of the build and completion.
In order to set the 4.3 I had to find a good placement position which required gabbing my own motor mounts and a new trans/tcase crossmember.
After this it took a bit of thinning of the original wiring harness and the use of a Howell stand-alone computer and harness to get it up and running. Comp was flashed to get rid of emissions crap and need for a catalytic.
Then became task of doving the tube front together, creating a winch mount and bull bar. Inside I fabbed small inner fenders to mount computer and other wiring.
Just recently after thinking hard about it, I decided to sell the truck because life and family (kids getting older and more activities) I just wasn’t getting out as much as I would like and it was killing me to see it sitting in garage.
So it sold to a guy in Chilliwack area that is using it as it was intended and I have received a few messages saying that he is really enjoying it, and actually plans on taking it down to Moab which is kind of a dream for me to see it actually make it there......can’t wait to see the pics....
That’s my Green Bastard story, it was a journey and the knowledge I gained along with the friends I got to meet as a result of it, can’t have a price put on it.
(PS - here is a latest pic with some new doors and 37” Trep stickies on headlocks......it’s really gonna go places now !!)

Wow really looks like a beast now with those new rubbers - I think you need some wheel spacers though, hah!

Inside I then installed the Sidewinder shifter for the reverse manual TH350 and installed triple sticks ahead of shifter.
New Autometer gauges were required so I built a new inset for the dash, I was able to save the original fuel gauge.
Now that things were complete it was time to get wheeling, I ran the truck for a few years with no major issues.
Did you end up selling it? Could have sworn I saw it up for sale a while back.

Right on. Nice to see all the hard work go to good hands.
Now that this build is done, and BeRadical has got black beauty running nicely, all the good reading material is gone!
