Here are some pics of Red Creek Fir. This is the most awe inspiring tree that I have seen on the island. My photos don't do it justice. I should have brought my Nikon, but oh well. Highly recommended.
Next Mt. Bolduc, which I finally found ( it was actually easy, I just kept screwing up my directions!)
Sweet!
Next on your list should be the cheewhat giant. Estimated to be about 2500 years old, it's the oldest tree in Canada and the largest western red cedar in the world.
Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware of that one. I'll definitely be checking it out.
Very cool. Pictures never do it justice but definitely makes mr want to check that out.
Also, going to look into that Cheewhat Giant.
Cheetwhat giant
Wow, what a beast! How hard is the route?
I read somewhere that it requires a hike in. But that doesn't mean there isn't an off road trail.
It's right off the main logging road to carmanah walbran pp. It's about a 45 minute hike one way.
Both highly recommend!
