Hey everybody,
Last weekend a couple buddies and I were out wheeling and exploring in the Jordan river area, ended up going back to the highway and going up Tugwell main. We kept going towards Tugwell lake and got as far as the concrete wall with a trail around it. We were running out of daylight then so we headed back out. Thinking about heading up there again pretty soon. From our GPS it looked like we were only about 1k away from the lake. So my questions are about the lake itself, is there any good fishing or camping spots on the shore? Also, what else is nearby and worth exploring? Looks like another small lake up there, Butler Lake, might be accessible by road or trail. Anybody know anything about that?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but is the wall there just to block access, or is a remnant of something else?

Yes this is the wall, but there is a driveable trail around it now.
Yeah Tugwell Lake is a pretty popular destination for ATV's and modified 4x4's.
I'd like to go but I'll wait until things thaw a bit more and hopefully I'll have a winch by then, or at least one other capable rig going out with me.
This is an awesome area, I have not been to tugwell/anderson in some time as mentioned on my other post. Would love to find my way back there one of these days..
The lake is easy to get to, its is very crowded on nice days with rigs/sxs/atvs.
Its a nice spot though.

Made it up to the lake today! Lots of fun and awesome challenge level for me and the friends i was with. Would love to explore further in that area, it looks like there are tons of trails and some great obstacles. A new set of tires would sure help out, and on-board air so I won't worry as much over the rocky bits (I wheel at 32 psi, which is very not ideal). Otherwise we only needed to pull out a recovery strap once, for me to help my buddy's cherokee out of one spot. Met a few quads and a razor at the lake where we stopped for a fire and some lunch. 10/10 will return for more adventures
you really need to air down man, i usually go between 8psi and 12psi. depending on terrain. I usually just drive home on that and air up then. LOL and i have a co2 bottle. I only run 20psi on the street normally.
glas you had a good time though, from there the back country opens up to you if you know where to go.
Yeah I have essentially just street tires on my truck sadly so I keep the higher pressure for highway driving. New set of tires is a very high priority for my truck but I just don't have the cash to spare at the moment. Anybody got a halfway decent set of 33"s for 16" rims for a good price?

I drove around on 20psi daily and aired down to 10-15 on trails.
You notice a world of difference.
damn haha what size tires? also kinda depends how much weight your carrying overall. My truck is like 4400lbs ( ish) maybe a bit more, and ive got 32's , always driving around 35psi. What do you guys think would be good psi for on / or offroad?
20-25psi is sooo nice for daily driving. my xterra is about 4300lbs, I run 32s as well. never going back to 40psi again, unless i'm road tripping. 8s is what ppl run for technical stuff, i usually just dip between 10-15. you can pop a tire off your rim if its too low, and i'm usually alone, and I do not want to figure that out in the bush.

Can running at 25 daily on road cause any premature tire wear or like crappier handling?
I run my 35" mtrs around 20 psi on the street. anytime i hit gravel or trail they go to at least 12 psi. i will go as low as 8psi. beadlocks are in my future
If you're like me your spare is a piece of shit. New tires next month tho.
My spare is a matching 35" MTR, it has a little tread on it. enough to get me out of the bush.
Won't running on the street all the time at low pressure like 20psi cause your tires to wear and give you scrappy mileage? My 33"s get a noticeable bulge in the side if they go down to even 20 psi and my day to day driving is in Victoria, rather than in the woods
