Beefing up an Xterra

Hello all :)

I'm looking for a rock slider and at least 1-2 skids for the front of my Xterra.
The wife and I had some hairy moments going up to Jordan River dam area on our first ever 4WD experience, we definitely hit a few things and basically bent/dented our side step's, ripped off one mud flap and slightly bumped the oil plan. So that got me worried!!

I'd love to be able to get used slider and plates if possible here on the island but that may be tough.

I know I can get some shops in Vancouver to fab any of these but its very expensive and long wait times, the other option is ordering from the states (rocky road / shrock etc) but again that takes a while.

Any advice for me to get what I need?

Thank you :)

If the Jeep snobs won't fab you anything for your Xterra, I can also recommend Westshore Spring & 4X4, as I'm sure others who have had work done there will agree.

I'm pretty sure they're still doing fabrications and they can probably find or make what you need. They pretty much built Eric Anderson's entire rig.
Just tell them what you want to do and what your budget is. They won't half ass what they build you either. If you're actually going to off road, they will make sure it is off road tough and not the chromey baloney crap you find on ebait, unless of course that's what you want, but if you're here, you're probably not a ricer.. ;-)

They did my suspension upgrades which have been awesome, and they modded some OTS bolt on super slider rails for me which were tearing out all the loops from the body flex by frame welding three tube steel legs on each rail so my sliders are now at least as strong as the frame and can take the full weight of the vehicle and then some on each rail with no damage or warping and don't even touch the body. They've seen action more than a few times now while on the rails and just the paint is getting scraped off underneath after all the pounding but there's barely a dent in the steel.

I've been saving up for a few months now to get them to make me a custom front bumper/winch/bullbar/bushguard setup for my 2nd gen Tracker.
I can not for the life of me find any half decent OTS offroad bumpers anywhere for these things. Plenty for the old style Trackers and Sidekicks but they're all bolt on lightweight 2-bit crap that either looks stupid (ie safari bars & stingers), can't take an 8k+ winch, don't have decent functional bull bars/push bars & bush guards, wouldn't survive a 25km/hr impact with a 3 point buck without totaling itself and my rig, and also have recovery points, will protect my front plate and fairlead from bush or minor impact damage and won't obscure my stock lights or get me a VI. I figure if I'm going to get one custom I may as well get it all. ;-)

Thank you, good to know there's some local options. First I'm getting tires and then add armor.

Sorry about that, I have dealt with Brad on numerous occasions and he's always done what I have asked weather it was Jeep or not.

I have not dealt with him in almost a year now so maybe he's narrowed his field of work.

He drives a Jeep so his preference is Jeep and that's what his website shows...but he was always "work is work" kind of attitude.

I would suggest going with Westshore 4x4 as well. I had bumpers on my jk that Brad built. I wouldnt run his stuff again.

Jay what happened to them?

first off, I bought them from a buddy just cause i needed a winch bumper and rear tire carrier. they are a pretty ugly square design to start with. but i got them cheap. the front bumper constantly bent anytime it touched something. not built very well. the rear bumper kept going through bearings for the tire carrier and the latch was done poorly. I had even texted Brad to find out what size bearing it was to replace it and he couldn't tell me. He also blamed the bearing failure on being wheeled to hard. LOL. All in all a not great product, and the dude really has zero customer service skills. I wasnt looking to have him fix anything, i just wanted the bearing size to do it myself.

Interesting experience! I do agree on the customer service, at the same time though he's not running an actual store or company, just a guy who fabs. I got him to build my sliders and bed rack and both are fantastic, very well built! Maybe you got some earlier stuff?
