Can you get a vehicle in through Oliphant still? Was biking there a couple months back but didn't really see a way hahaha, been out bear creek in Jordan river a few times this year, real nice area not a lot of 4xing, ended up going through Kapoor main on the weekend. Found lots of good stuff out there I haven't seen yet, tried to come out on forebay in Jordan river but the gates are locked on kapoor
Well it depends what you have for a vehicle, a big truck might be a little tight but I've seen people with stock pathfinders and newer jeeps before you get to the lake, you can drive all the way around if your a little lifted and experience.
Looks like a trip out to oiliphant is in order. We will see who gets left behind in their full sizers!!
I also found some legitimate decommissioned roads out near port renfrew/mt.brown area. It would be a chainsaw type job, but you can bet NO ONE has been down it since the 60's or so. Could be a good weekend project...
Just a little update on oliphant, made er all the way in and around the lake in my fullsize 1500. No problems whatsoever, would like to make another trip soon!
Up behind serious coffee mill bay. First left then a right onto a dirt road. Yes this road is gated as well. But there are 2 trails off to the left hand side that take you right in. Follow the trail all the way till you hit pavement. Turn right at the pavement then your first left . Then an immediate right. Good run around yhr lake starts at the next left after that!
Yeah but if you go in the other way, through west shawnigan down renfrew road you can either go through burnt bridge or down kapoor main and they both take you to the same spot. It's gated as well but if uou take a right just before the gate where there is sometimes a guy sitting you can go through a side trail , through a massive cross ditch.
Did the serious coffee route on Sunday, had a buddy on a dirt bike run point, made it to oliphant lake with no real issues, good run with the kids.lots of ways around the really stupid stuff
yea i was up there a few weeks ago with my long bed double cab tacoma, even with a lift and better approach angle, definitely not doable. sucks, i really like that loop. I know theres a shawny entrance, but its a bit sketch
Try oliphant lake or near Jordan river, pretty much everything in sooke is shut down unless you know of a backyard access. Haha

Some good wheeling in shawnigan too
Yeah for sure. Up through burnt bridge/kapoor main there are a ton of trails. All the way through renny
sweet just looked it up, yea i might check out oliphant soon! and kapoor? isnt that near humpback reservoir? thought that was all completely gated off

There is a new trail around the gate at aikman road.
If you go in at aikman rd around the gate its pretty much a straight run there. Much easier than the serious coffee route.

Did the same run this weekend.
Fun stuff.
I think maybe we did a slightly different run. ;)
Looking forward to hitting the JR trail when you've got the time.
Just slightly haha. Always a good day when theres no body damage.
If you dont go camping let me know.
Has anyone been up past serious coffee lately? Is it stock friendly?
I went today and it's been dug out. Only dirtbikes and quads are getting in now
It's always getting dug out and wheelers are always reopening it.
A few of us are heading out there Sunday morning. Give us an hour and we'll be in...
You can get around at Aikman Rd. Just past spectacle lake fire hall.
I tried that yesterday and the gate bypass looked way too gnarly for my stockish truck on 30.5,s :(
Did the entrance at serious coffee get opened up this past weekend? and how difficult is the entrance at Aikman Rd?

im curious, who digs it out behind serious coffee?
I've seen plenty stock trucks make it through by aikman
The entrance behind serious coffee, will I find it by driving down the road behind it? Its somewhere I'd like to check out
sent PM ranger guy
I got it and thank you very much
It's all dug up again.
Thanks for the update buddeh!
