Hi fam
I'm planning a run at Mt. Prevost for Wednesday July 13th. Meeting at the Wallmart in Duncan @ 10am. Me and a buddy are heading up the mountain and doing some trails. We're open to other spots though if anyone has suggestions. TheShanergy has a gps map of Skutz falls, if there's more demand for that run and its doable in a day then we're ready to give it a go. Hope to see some of you out there.
Are the trails tough? I do not have a locker in the front. Or a winch yet. Only been up through the logging roads on mt prevost
Trails aren't that bad. I don't have lockers front or rear nor do I have a winch. My buddy has a recover rope just in case though. The trails can get a little tight, I picked up a few scratches last time I went out. I DD my jeep and my buddy DD's his Tacoma so we don't do anything too crazy - we need our vehicles to get to work and such.
Ok awesome. I dont mind scratches... I wheeled with jeeps back in ontario, and i got used to it after the first few. I have some slings and shackles if needed. ( perks of being a crane operator :)! Im also DD ing my rig right now until im settled and can find another square body daily driver.
Is my rig too big to tag along? Sounds like fun and I'm free to come out that day
Yeah, we could always use another set of shackles and a sling just in case. OnlyDaBest007, you can definitely come out and try to do some trails with us. You will definitely be able to make it up the FSR but some of the other trails maybe not. It all depends on what counts as too tight for you.
Cool, c u all Wednesday
Best trails are on sicker the two mountains are joined ............ go up sicker rd behind red roster cafe i am going up Sat up sicker and will end up top Mount Brenton ...........If you go up Mt Prevost the gate on mines rd is locked

Today we found out that the Mt. Prevost gate is locked the hard way despite you telling us. Mt. Sicker sounds awesome, I'd be down to run it with you on Sat. Added a few pics I took today. It was pretty awesome doing hill60 and a random trail at Shawnigan lake that led to the Quarry. I can't believe how you made that f350 through it all.
Lots of easy ways around that gate come up from forestry pools ,Sicker road,or Hill 60
I don't want to be "That guy" but careful on discussing ways around gates and other trail head locations, land owners and other people of authority quite often frequent webpages like this and when they know about bypasses...bypasses get dug up as most of the land "We" travel on is private property.
Better discussed Via PM.
Cool pics thanks for sharing.
The gate at the forestry pools is open there is no gate on sicker rd and from hill 60 again no gate there is a gate on mines rd it is locked i will be going no were near it or around it or bypassing it .The mines rd gate stop people from dumping cars at the old Lenora mine site ..................I think the wife and i will be going up the hill Sicker on Sat will end up top of mount Brenton ..............
Yea fun day today. Thx for letting me tag along. I'd go Sat also if invited.
The Trail will be tight in a few spots and hard on paint but your more than welcome ...........
Don't mind a few scratches, but really tight turns in small spaces are tough, and short tall humps with no room to angle the long wheelbase but other than that I'm good to go. I can fit this rig in some pretty small places for its size.
Thanks for having me out guys. Was a fun day. Id be up for more trips out if yall go out again.
If you guys are going out this weekend I could show you a fun trail or two in that area.
I am all ways up for new trails ....I have been kind of looking for the route to the old manganese mine open pit on hill 60 i have got a idea but still need to have a look ...........
