hey guys got out in the truck again after a long time and took the kid up camping with a few buddys for the weekend. hit the road at 8am in brentwood bay and after a few stops we were on the trail by hill 60 at about 1030. drove along there for a bit but missed the trail where it drops down to cross the river and run up macmillan. killed about an hour pushing some tirhgt trails in my F250 and then turned around to find the small trail and we were back in the main making good time. put on a quick 20-25 km till we turned off to the road up to Sherk. hit a few good hills with 2 feet of WET snow. i have never seen anything like that just could not push more then 20-30 feet with out backing up and running at it again. even triend to chain all 4 tires and see if i could plow my way and get a trail in but with the rain coming down so hard and how wet the snow was we were just fighing a lossing battle. so around 330 we worked on turning the trucks around and came up with a plan to get to Jump lake and see if we could get some snow there and go camping. with in an hour we were back on the main and into a locked gate so looks like jump lake was out. after talking to the other guys we come up with a plan to head back down to the river out of the snow and set up camp on the river as its almost dark. as we are working our way there my 14 year old son is kinda down since he had been pumped for this trip for the last few months helping me fix the truck and making sure he does good in school so i will take him lol....nothing wrong with a little black mail. as we are heading back to the river i see the turn off the heads up to Rheinheat lake and look at some of the maps i had and talk the guys into giving it one last try. so we stop and have a beer and look it up on the map and gps flash the lightbar up and take off agian. the snow level was a bit higher at Rheinheat so got up a few big hills before we hit the snow and even when we did it was a better road and made a little better time. still really wet and ended up having to get pulled back a few times and about 250 feet from when the camp was ended up poping a bead on my tire so had to put my spair on. but for it on and pushed the last little bit and ended up getting a really nice camp set up and hung out at the lake playing in the snow and doing some icefishing.
Pics or it didn't happen.
haha jas brought the hammer down!
nice dude that sounds like an awesome time! hope your son enjoyed it too, unfortunately thats how it rolls sometimes, never know how its gona be till you get there! I saw we have a go at sherk all together when the weather gets warmer and melts that stuff, I know Jas and I were talking about doing a trip soon, i know a couple people more who would be interested, but yea im down to try it out again in warmer weather! thanks for the info though, glad you guys could camp :)

Wow you don't mess around with your sleeping arrangements. Got a king sized bed in there too?
Haha agreed that is pretty hardcore, hot tub included?
i think the hot tub is coming next year :)
Haha awesome :p
Man, you guys really know how to camp.
I usually just curl up and sleep in my jeep.
you have to get the set up going...its all about having a good camp. most of the time i like to go for a few more days when i'm bringing the wall tent or i'll just bring my other tent in the summer when its nice out. gota have the set up to when your with kids too so you can put them down for a nap and make sure they stay warm at night.
Damn I need some new tire & chains.. Looks like a blast.
Only used the chains to go 100 feet at sherk and took them off. To wet so just aired down and gave it hell
Nice wall tent set up, I think some of these guys haven't seen how hunters roll haha. Looks like good times thanks for posting!
Yep, thats a good sized tent.
yea its sick for sure, and I guess as long as you have the room to carry it all, your good to go :)
