Extension is pretty tame as well as Barsby Lake area, if you're looking for a little more challenging, Dumont is a decent place to start. All though all of the area is closed to the public due to forest fire risk being so high, be prepared to run into security.
I will be visiting Vancouver Island next week, any sugestions for a nice trail ride with the family? Live in Washingont but visit Vancouver Island a lot and want to start going on some trail rides when I come to visit. Will be in the Nanaimo/Parksville area 8/22-8/29. Thanks
Sure, no problem. 2.5" AEV Suspension Lift, with 35s BFG KM2s. Although it is still pretty shinny black, I already to have a bunch of nice pinstripping on it from some rides in Plain and Naches this summer. Winch and onboard compressor pretty much round out the mods that would effect my off roading abilities. I'm not looking to do rock crawling but somehting a bit more than smooth dusty forest service roads would be great. Some rocks, some tight spots, some steep climbs, some mud and lots of great scenery and views is what I am looking for. I will have my wife and tow kids as passangers.
Well if we get some considerable rain before you get here I could take you out and show you a few places. Right now though, still too dry for me to go into the bush.
Good looking rig BTW.
Great, thanks and maybe it will rain a bit. We will be in the area all next week. I am hoping to at least go for a drive touring around on Wed, Thurs and Fri.
Hay, did you have any luck finding any place to go wheeling in the Nanaimo area? I am visiting the island for the week and am also looking for a nice place go. It sounds like most places are locked up due to fire dangers, so I am even just looking for a fires service road to take a drive on if nothing else is open. If you are interested in an easy drive this week let me know and I will let you know if i find anything.
I'm newer to Nanaimo and have not been out much this summer due to dry weather but I'm off this Friday and sat if you are around , it is suppose to rain Friday , so maybe someone else can suggest where to go???

What do you drive David? Not what make but stock or modified, do you have a lift? over sized tires? are you worried about scratches?
