91 xj 4.5 lift install

Well here we go. I got a 91 cherokee stock for next to nothing. It is in good shape and needs a lift. This will be the first lift I have installed. I will be starting Saturday afternoon and working through the weekend. I may be on here asking a few questions as I go. Thanks in advance. FYI I am a pretty good back yard mechanic so should not be to hard. Kit going in is the zone 4.5 with full leafs. And have 33x12.5 15 a/t tires.

good stuff boys! if you find a drop Pittman arm I can come swap it out for yah, one from a zj is a 3" drop from a stock yj arm not too sure about the xjs....also remember to offset the PHB by about an inch on the axle side.

I didn't require a drop pitman arm after my lift was installed, my draglink and Track bar both run parallel with each other which is what your end goal will be after the lift is installed.

If it was going in to a grey dodge then yeh it was my stuff. If bakers is westshore. Had a friend pick it up for me.

Yes I missed that, mayne is pretty nice done a quote or two out there way way back, did a few jobs on the islands for west coast flotation systems. Was nice oout on the water but I wouldn't wanna pay the ferry toll every time I got off to go wheeling.... Any who as beer stated you shouldn't need much else.

Lift should look killer on there. If you do away with this running boards you will gain even more clearance where you need it.

Running nine boards are coming off. I worries about that. Lol. And am pulling the liners in the fenders and removing the stock flair

I suggest leaving the inner fenders in, if you are going to cut your fenders then just cut them down the middle and separate them so they fit or else you are going to have issues with mud packing your fenders towards the doors. Also with 11.5 or 12.5 if you remove the stock outer fenders your wheels are going to stick out a ways which may draw unneeded attention from the feds. If you really want to remove the inner fenders I suggest sticking a pool noodle in the fender, door side.

Yeh apparently u can put a pool noodle in there to protect it. Got the front complete today. Now working on the rear but the front boot of the leafs is not coming out. Any suggestions or should I cut it?? It is stuck in the rubber part of the bushing not in the nut

If this is not going to be a daily driver may I suggest losing front and rear sway bars, getting rid of them will give you more flex for when you really need to stretch out the suspension. Also make sure you use some red locktite on them wheel spacers.

It is going to be a daily driver. And rear sway bar is going. i want to get the quick discount links one day for the front. Dont drive much where I live though. The island is only 25 Sq km

Decent write up on cutting and folding rear fender, take your time and don't over cut and it's easy, I took my time doing mine and they look way better than the OPs in the write up

Thanks. Now just got to give her a good clean, and go over the bolts once more after everything settles and change the fluids and she should be good to go..... That is till I break somethin.

You should check the stretch on your brake lines, the fronts you can relocate (lots of write-ups on it) no need to change them but you may need to get longer rears. Last thing you want is to find out AFTER you've broken them. I didn't require longer rears but I'm also a little squatted In the rear. (Maybe your kit came with them) If you want pics of where I relocated the fronts let me know and I'll get you one.

The kit came with relocation brackets for the lines front and back.

Well changed the fluids yesterday in it and installed the transfer case drop and fixed a couple oil leaks. Today just started on the fender flairs. Using lawn edging.
