I'd like to head out this Tuesday, July 22nd, leaving from Nanaimo. I am new and my truck is stock, I don't really have any specific trails in mind, but was thinking of exploring the Nanaimo Lakes Rd area as I've only been there once. If anybody would like to come along, and especially if anyone has some suggestions about spots to check out, all would be welcome. I think the Harewood Starbucks at around 10:30 would a good time/place. It is a weekday and short notice, so I certainly understand if that's too tall of an order.

Yeah I figured a weekday with short notice would be kind of a tall order. Unfortunately I'm usually at work on weekends, so it makes it tough to plan things with other people.
I could go for a evening trip... Should be finnished work and ready by 530 ish... Still have lots of daylight and a bit cooler...
I think I will head out earlier tomorrow and go check out the Cowichan Lake area, never been there before. If I get back to Nanaimo early enough I think I'd still be up for an evening trek though. I'll PM you my cell number, if you can give me a text around 4ish I'll let you know if I'm back. If I don't reply it probably means I'm still in the middle of nowhere and have no reception.
