I'm curious too as to who the builder was. I did some drawings for sliders / steps for my KL that I am trying to find a local builder for. An Esquimalt welder wouldn't give me a price for them because they don't have a big enough brake former for the plate steel.
This might take all the fun out of finding it yourself...but if anyone wants them, here's a couple of images showing the route up from Gordon River Main. The turn off is around the 17km mark from Lake Cowichan (Honeymoon Bay) I might be wrong about that. The turn off is pretty obvious on the Left of Gordon River Main. The Mount Bolduc Forest Service Road is on the left of the Pacific Marine Road, which connects Gordon River Main with Harris Creek Main (Pacific Marine Highway) There's a locked gate at the Pacific Marine Highway end of the connector.
Got mine, Got a really cool loaner as well while Brad installed my sliders
haha...I just realized you were replying to my post.
I didn't walk, I rode my motorbike. Gate was open at River Road
turned around at the halfway point. ran out of time.
Ya know, this place is only 3 1/2 km from Youbou. Think I'll just park in YB and walk over the hill some weekend. How hard can it be?
