Victoria is really limited in trail access unfortunately, Sooke is your closest option but again you'll be facing more difficult trails. Shawnigan is alright too, if you know where to look of course. The main problem is finding someone who knows the best ways in and out. That information is a "closely guarded secret" to many wheelers here on the island as good trails are hard to establish and the fear of overcrowding and eventual shutdown is taken seriously. The Backroads mapbook of the island will give you a good idea of where to start/explore new areas, but the best way to find trails other than logging roads is to find someone who knows already. I would recommend making the trip here to Cowichan and hitting Shane up, or me or any of the others here on the forum, we're always down for a good wheel and have a pretty good knowledge of the local trails/backroads.
Looks fun! Wild Deer is a great spot, peaceful out there. I was also out in Glenora yesterday. Usually we go in the Island Timberlands gate, this time we went in the Skutz Falls entrance and up the powerlines to Long Lake. The Skutz Falls entrance has no gate so there is no need to sign in, but man that climb up the powerlines is sketchy, even for a little vehicle like the tracker. Next time I'm out in glenora I'll contact you, maybe do some more exploring!
Looking good mike, I like those stereo speakers rigged up in the back lol. Hey Ive been meaning to ask, where did you find that center console with cupholders? I could really use one
Wow what a place! I haven't done any exploring out that way before, maybe this is a sign I need to start! You guys sure went a long way, impressive.
Finally an update! Any progress is good progress. I'm really stoked to see how this works out for ya, sounds killer so far
