Thanks, will do. A friend just offered me his forestry map of the area and I do have a backroads map book too. Just wondering if there are any insider tips on routes that may not be so obvious on the maps.
Timber West has been locking their gate near Camp Bernard (Scout camp) for a few years now, when they upped the logging activity in there. They also got tired of all the dumping going on, dump trucks full of drywall, etc. CRD also has gates further in to keep us out of the watershed containment area. It has become hard to just drive in and camp by a lake overnight anymore. As Ken said, hiking into Leechtown I believe is the only way now. The Goose is probably the easiest way to get there. I have enjoyed camping at the Sooke Potholes Campground and walking to Leechtown via the Goose which is right along side the campground.
